Club Licensing Changes  Jan 2020

Notice of application to amend Licence conditions

The Club has applied to change the terms of the current Club Premises Licence.


A copy of the application to North Lanarkshire Licencing Board has been posted on the noticeboard in the Club.

Christmas Bingo         Dec 2019

Bingo night raises £800
for Club Funds

A Christmas Bingo Night was held on Thursday 5th December and was a big success.

Over 90 members and friends came along and had a very enjoyable night. 


A fantastic £800 was raised for club funds !


Mhairi Buchanan who organised the event would would like to thank all her helpers, everyone who came along to support the club and those donated all the great bingo and raffle prizes. 

A big thanks also to Mhairi for all her hard work!

Thursday Evening Mixed Pairs

Starts 19 September 2019


The popular mixed pairs league is back again this year.

 The league is open to juniors, ladies & gents of all abilities. Non-members who are interested in joining the Club
are welcome to come along and play.  

Pairs teams are balloted each week. Why not come along and give it a try?


The first game starts at 7pm on Thursday 19 September 2019.
There will be a cash prize at the end of the season for the top two players.

Dick Boyle Retires


After many years of service to the Club as  our property convenor, Dick has decided to retire.

The Club would like to thank him for giving so generously of his time to the Club.

His talents will be sorely missed and it will not be an easy task to replace him.

He has assured us that he will still be around to provide help if required and 
will continue to run our Coaching Classes.

Scottish Team Selection    Dec 2019

Mhairi Buchanan selected for 2020 Scottish Ladies Team 

Congratulations  to Mhairi Buchanan
who has been selected to play for Scotland
for the 6th year in succcession!

The Ladies Scottish Team will play their
first match in the BIIBC International
Series in Llanelli in March 2020. 

Well done Mhairi - a great credit to our Club!

The Annual General Meeting of Coatbridge indoor Bowling Club took place on  Tuesday 20th August.

 Scottish Leagues Update Jan 2020

Well done to the Senior Gents who finished the season at the top of the West B league.  A great acheivement.  Sadly they lost to a strong Auchinleck team in the quarter final playoffs on 11th January. 


The Ladies finished their season with decisive win against Falkirk today and finished 2nd overall in the West Premier League.  Well done to the team!.


The Gents won their game against Bainfield today and sit 5th in the Div.1  (A) League,  with one more game to play on 25th January.

Community Enterprise 
Meeting withClub Members 


Victoria Pearce from Community Enterprise, the Company tasked with judging the wishes of the public and members regarding the purchase of the building met with members of the Bowling Club on Monday 9th September. 
       
She gave members the opportunity to to discuss their concerns and answer questions on how the grant application to the Scottish Land Fund is progressing. 

 

At present we are awaiting building surveys which were recently completed and if all goes well the application for a grant to purchase the building will be put forward to the Scottish Land Fund in November 2019.

Lottery Funding for new Coaching Bowls


 Our Treasurer Alex Forrest recently applied to the National Lottery for a grant to enable the Club to buy new bowls for coaching.

We are delighted to announce that our application was successful and £1235 has been awarded to the Club for new Bowls.
We run regular coaching classes 
which are free of charge!
